Netflix finally delivered.

The Mister and I got a subscription to NetFlix at the beginning of the summer. We figured with that with all our shows on hiatus until the fall, it would be a great chance to catch up on all the movies we've missed over the past few years. Boy, have we got our money's worth! The Mister is a movie watching machine. He and I don't have the same taste in most movies (I don't do sci-fi and horror movies and girly romantic comedies aren't his favorite) but we can usually agree on dramas and comedies.

Lately, the movies we've watched together have been pretty disappointing - Smart People, Duplicity, Adventureland - all major snooze fests as far as I'm concerned. But we finally watched a good one tonight - State of Play.

I hadn't heard of it until it arrived in our mailbox but when The Mister told me who was in it, I agreed to watch it with him. (Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Russell Crowe, Helen Mirren and Jason Bateman. He could have stopped at Ben Affleck.) Rachel McAdams and Russell Crowe play journalists investigating Washington corruption and the murder of a Congressman's (Ben Affleck) mistress. It was entertaining and both The Mister and I enjoyed it. If you're looking for something to add to your Netflix queue, give it a try.

If anyone has seen anything good lately, send your suggestions my way. There's still a few weeks until the fall shows start back and I could use a few movies to get me through.

I've never heard of this movie, but that is a stellar cast!
Have you seen Taken? I thought it was a great movie!
