A warning at the outset - this post is all over the place. But, it's all my brain was capable of tonight.
Six days ago, I had one of the tastiest drinks ever. And I'm just now telling you about it. Shame on me. Allow me to introduce the "Eola 101":
{Sorry for the crappy photo, but the one of me holding said cocktail was heinous.}
The Eola 101* is milagro silver tequilla, agave nectar, lime juice and champagne. And it was delish. I typically don't drink tequilla. {there was an unfortunate incident in college after a few too many margaritas. i may have made a few loud and inappropriate comments and taunted performers during the Greek Week skits. we'll leave it at that} But, for this tasty concoction, I'll gladly make an exception to the self-imposed tequilla ban. Despite the marginal Mexican food served alongside it, I'll be heading back for this drink soon. If you're not an Orlando local, I would definitely recommend mixing up a batch of these at home. They'd be great on a hot day with some chips & guac.
In entirely unrelated news, I have a new toy to tell you all about. This guy was in my Christmas stocking:
It's the Chef'n Garlic Zoom Chopper. This is such a great kitchen tool! I don't know about you, but I hate chopping garlic. Your hands stink for hours afterwards and sometimes I have a hard time mincing the garlic finely enough. Problems no more! You just peel the garlic clove, pop it into this hand-dandy little rolly-doo (official scientific name) and drive the thing around the counter a few times like a Matchbox car. Presto - minced garlic. And, unlike so many kitchen gadgets which claim to save you time but really take twice as long by the time you're done cleaning them, this is a cinch to clean. Just rinse & dry. Kudos to Santa Mom for finding this awesome gadget!
Changing gears yet again, was anyone else super annoyed by all the repeats on tv tonight? Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation and the Office ALL airing repeats in one night? An immense travesty. I think the folks over at NBC need to get together with the ABC folks and make sure this doesn't happen again. Has anyone else watched the new show The Deep End? I hate it. The Mister says it's because I'm a lawyer. I told him it's because the show is terrible. Who's with me?

I agree about the rebates - not happy about that at ALL!
And I am dying to try that drink. Although I dunno if I have a reason to pop a full bottle of champagne for one drink. Oh well, more for me!
The Deep End is just awful. Period. I give in half a season.
Cocktail looks yum! I will have to try that this spring/summer.
Repeats sucked all the glory out of my Thursday night tradition! Good thing I had wine.
so far i haven't been sucked into the deep end yet but i have been giving it a shot. I think I don't like it because... well, it's aweful! We'll see!
BOO for reruns!
Ummm, thank you about the repeats on TV last night. I had to watch National Geographic. This does not make me smarter in any way shape or form!
The Deep End SUCKS. The acting is terrible and the plot lines are predictable and boring. Two thumbs way down. Also, I can't believe you are drinking tequila again...
Ditto on Deep End, I am not a fan! I really wish Parks and Rec was new last night. I miss Leslie Knope!
That drink sounds delicious! I am going to have to try that.
Also, I am SO ready for some new tv... going totally crazy with all the reruns. Happy Friday!
A> That drink sounds fabulous and as soon as I have my baby Im gonna have to get one of those!
B.) I have been wanting that garlic gadget!
C.) I was pissed at all the reruns too!

what a yummy drink!!!! but i'm still just a cheap wine kind of girl. :) ha! boo hiss for re-runs. we tried to watch the hogs play basketball, but it looked more like middle school girls out on the court than college athletes. haven't watched the show ... too busy drinking wine by that time of night! ha! happy friday!
I love tequila! I had an unfortunate incident with vodka literally 7 years ago and still cannot drink it...which makes finding a good cocktail difficult :( I'll have to try this one!
You are so very welcome. It is the least I can do. In fact, I really think it will reach a lot of people! Here are my sitemeter stats this week so far....

Soo---at least I did my part for you, for her family and for Jennifer to get the word out a little bit more.
On another note--I missed Greys and PP and am glad they were re-runs because I would have flipped if I missed it. I hope you have a great weekend Melissa. It is nice to have you as a new blogger friend.~Juliana
That garlic chopper looks awesome! I tend to use garlic in most things that I make and this would make it tons easier!
Tequilla AND champagne?! Crazy! I definitely need to try that.
Love that garlic gadget! Am SO getting one.
I'm not so sure about that drink. It was tasty at the time, but I was pretty much bedridden on Saturday.
Hmmm...I went running the next morning at 9am. I think I'll have to try it again and see. :)
Shana could be right. I was fine the next day, but I had to go home at 10:30!
Fine, maybe it was me.
you crack my shit up - LKRUGER
Well, the drink looks fabulous, but I have to admit that the thought of mixing champagne and tequila scares me a bit! I have not even tried to watch The Deep End - maybe it's that I'm a lawyer, but I hate all legal shows (well, except for Law & Order SVU, of course!).
That cocktail must knock you on your arse. It sounds delish!
I stumbled across your blog this morning and have been looking over some of your past posts and adore your site. Just became a new follower and wanted to say hi! Happy Saturday.
Oh my goodness, that drink sounds crazy delicious! I am a lover or almost all things Tequila:)
Oh, and I was also immensely disappointed on Thursday night. I was pretty pissed off with the Office the week before too, which was basically just clips from past shows! Grrr....
P.S. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I'm just excited that you've put your real name on your profile haha! I hate when I feel like I "know" somebody but then I don't know their name! That garlic chopper looks fab. I want one!
I don't usually do tequila either... sort of for the same reasons... Anyway, I've found that if ANYTHING has agave nectar in it, the tequila can totally be excused!
