I have no idea what this means. Who are these people? A group of rogue prepsters knocking off those who eschew the seeksucker? Should those with unpopped collars watch their backs? Are haters of pink & green in danger? And just how did a drinking, smoking frog come to be their mascot? So. Many. Questions.
I can't imagine anything less preppy than the mafia. Except maybe a smoking amphibian...
But I digress. The sweet, funny and newly engaged Kristen of Now You Know has tagged me and if she's in, then I'm in. (Head over to Kristen's blog and read about her super romantic engagement story.) Plus, I'm still enthralled by The Help, so I don't have the attention span required to write a real post. So, I'll play along.
Here are the PM rules:
If you're tagged, or even if you're not tagged, you can still join in the fun:
Paste the above picture on your blog.
Tell who tagged you.
Answer the questions.
Pass it on to 10 bloggers, and let them know they've been tagged.
Now, let's get to the questions. I don't want to get on the bad side of the Preppy Mafia!
1. Who is your style icon?
Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon and Michelle Obama have great style. The perfect blend of modern and classic. Sometimes elegant, sometimes casual but always flawless.
2. What is your favorite socialite book?
Is that like a book written by Paris Hilton? If so, I've never read one. I bet that gets me kicked out of the Preppy Mafia...
3. Favorite party theme?
Keep the food coming & the cocktails flowing and I'm a happy camper! I've always wanted to attend a Derby party. I think I might throw one this year just so I have a reason to buy a hat!
4. Go to Halloween costume?
I don't think I've ever repeated a costume. What's the fun in that? Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's has probably been my favorite. And because I love you all, I'll post a picture. Please try to ignore the fact that I'm desperately in need of highlights, a tan and a diet in this picture.
5. Extravagance you cannot live without?
Shoes. An excessive and ever-growing collection of shoes.
6. Living person you admire?
Tina Fey. She's smart, funny, talented and beautiful. An actress, comedienne, writer, producer, wife and mother. How she does it all - and so well - I'll never know. But I sure do admire her.
7. Greatest fear?
Death. Failure. Small, confined spaces. Speaking in front of large groups. My atrocious dancing skills being caught on someone's wedding video. That my feet will get bigger when I get pregnant. Clowns. It really depends on the day.
8. Trait you dislike about yourself?
I'm always running 10 minutes late. I know, it's terrible. But it's true. I blames genetics. I was born three weeks late & I haven't been on time since.
9. Which talent would you most like to have?
Seeing as how I'm totally devoid of any talent whatsoever, I'm not really in a position to be choosy. The ability to sing, dance, paint, walk without falling down - all would be appreciated.
10. Greatest achievement?
Choosing this guy to spend the rest of my life with. Best decision I've ever made.
I tag anyone else who's too tired to think up a post on this Monday night!

"I'm always running 10 minutes late. I know, it's terrible. But it's true. I blames genetics. I was born three weeks late & I haven't been on time since." hahaha I LOVE THAT!!!
Haha. Love this!
You crack me up! And you are right to question the mafia-ness of the preppy, the preppyness of the mafia, and frog in general. I'm glad you haven't read a "socialite book" and admire Tina Fey... *sigh*. A girl after my own heart.
I don't get what in the world a socialite book is either! Love the picture of you in Holly Golightly- sucha great costume, and you need neither tan nor diet in the picture.
Oh, I want to attend a derby party too! And I'm dying over your shoe stash!
You are too funny! Loving all your answers! I too am always at least 10 minutes behind schedule... I was born on time so I don't know what my excuse is! Ha ha.
10 minutes? REALLY? Aren't we being generous today. =) jk Love you!
Did you see Tina Fey on Oprah today? Okay...I know you said you like Ellen, but you should really check out because she was hysterical.
LOL I thought the same thing when I was tagged with this...wtf is socialite lit??
You just reminded me that I MUST go out and pick up a copy of the Help! Love all of your preppy style icons - in my book, those three can do no wrong. I think you need to throw a Derby party this year, just so you can don a fabulous hat!
I had a mini-meltdown when my sister's feet got bigger during her last pregnancy. THEY NEVER WENT BACK TO NORMAL SIZE. Although since she is already pregnant again, I'm hoping that's to blame.
WILL NOT BUY NEW SHOE COLLECTION. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
I'm always late too! And actually, I was never late until I had my son. That changed everything, lol. And I love your Holly Golightly costume, that's awesomeness! So glad you are on twitter now :)
