the narcissist responds, part II

Gosh ya'll are nosy!  Ha, I'm kidding.  There were so many questions I ended up splitting the "A" part of this Q&A into three parts.  Here's installment 2 of 3.  Tomorrow's installment includes the deets on my legally blond life and the scoop on when I'll start popping out babies.  Stay tuned...

What got you into blogging?

I began reading blogs while I was planning my wedding. At first I was reading only wedding planning blogs, but slowly other blogs became daily reads. After my wedding was over, I kept reading blogs. After many months of reading, I decided writing my own might be a good creative outlet. I never thought anyone would read it. Or that I'd even stick with it. I figured I'd get busy and forget about it. But, here I am 9 months later.

What do you love most about blogging?

Without a doubt, all the amazing people that I've "met." My sister and my husband tease me for having blog friends, but I really do feel like I've made so many great friends from writing this blog and reading other blogs. I love that I have met so many people who share my interest in cooking, reading and shopping at Target (what - it's a hobby!). But I also love that blogs give me a glimpse into other lives that are so very different from my own.

How did you meet your hubs?

My husband and I met in college. {We actually went to the same high school but didn't know each other.}Hubs was in a fraternity and I was in a sorority so we attended a lot of the same events and had many mutual friends. We finally started talking regularly when I joined the Student Senate. {Nerd Alert!} He was on the Executive Board and had to attend Senate meetings to give reports. He started talking to me at the meetings because I was shy and often sat by myself. I'm pretty sure he felt sorry for me. I thought he had a nice smile and the rest is history. Actually, the rest isn't history.  There are a few super embarrassing follow up stories which take us from meeting to married, but you guys didn't ask about that! :)

What is your husband's job?

He's a financial analyst.

Do you and your husband ever talk politics (since you guys are opposites)?

Yes, we do. I was a political science major in undergrad, went to law school and worked on a presidential campaign. The Mister has a Master's degree in Public Policy and spent two years working for the governor. We both have an interest in politics. While we do talk politics, we almost never fight about politics. We may disagree, but it's always more of a debate than an argument. He's actually one of the few people I enjoy discussing politics with.  He's intelligent and educated on the issues.  He's thought about his beliefs and positions and does not simply tow the party line.  It's nice to have someone to have a spirited debate with!

Also, I should clarify that while I am a {giant super liberal} Democrat and The Mister is a Republican, we really aren't too far apart on most issues. The hubs is fiscally conservative, but socially liberal. We agree on on nearly all social issues, which is what matters most to me.  Without getting into specifics, there are certain issues that are critically important to me.  Hubs and I are on the same page on those issues.

What is your favorite part about being married?

Being married didn't change much (if anything) about our relationship.  Except we had to pay taxes this year rather than get money back.  That sucked.  And I got a ring.  That did not suck.   Okay, seriously, I love being married because of who I'm married to.  He's my favorite part about being married.

how could you not love this guy?

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Playa Mujeres, Mexico. Best week of my life.

When can I come visit?

Sara, you can come visit tomorrow.  {I need a day to clean the house so that when you show up you're so impressed about how clean my house is. hahaha}  Oh please do come visit!  We'd have so much fun!

What is your favorite food?

Please don't make me pick just one. How about three? Guacamole, french fries with ranch dressing & tacos.

What is your favorite meal to cook for yourself?

Probably tacos with chips & guacamole.

Favorite book?

To Kill A Mockingbird.

Guilty pleasure?

Lounging on the couch in my pj's eating takeout and watching tv.

Favorite holiday?

Christmas.  It's always been my favorite.  I love the food, the music, the Christmas movies, decorating the tree, wrapping gifts - the whole shebang.  But most of all, I love being with my family.  If you ask me, the absolute worst part about being a grown up is that you don't get two weeks off for Christmas.
Seriously...when can I come visit?!

Fine Sara, come today.  But don't bitch about the messy house.
