wherein i buy unnecessary things

I'm sure you would all agree - Target can be a dangerous place.  You go in for nail polish remover and light bulbs and leave two hours later with a bathing suit, three books, a dvd, lipgloss and a lamp.  How does that happen?

This time, I think I've set a new personal record.  I went into Target to buy a wedding card and walked out three minutes later having spent $60.  At $20/minute, I think I got out of there just in time!

You see, on Friday, The Mister, The Sister and I were headed out of town for a friend's wedding.  We were running a bit late {my fault, as per the usual} and eager to get to the hotel to enjoy some pool time before the ceremony.  But, I was still in need of a wedding card.  As luck would have it, we spotted a Super Target just off the highway and pulled off the exit.

We walked in, grabbed a card and walked toward the register to pay.  This is where The Mister made a critical mistake.  He went to the restroom and left me to pay for the card.

Before I could reach the register some sparkly pretties caught my eye in the jewelry section.  Ninety seconds later I was walking out of Target with these little beauties.

Throw in a Diet Coke and a pack of gum and that's what I call successful impulse shopping.

Also a success - the wedding.  A beautiful bride, gorgeous flowers, a mashed potato bar {OMG!}, and fabulous friends I don't get to see nearly enough.

i mean how in the world do I spend right around $100 everytime I enter those hallowed red doors? So bad- especially because I get so excited when I am out of something that necessitates a Target run!

I LOVE that ring! I can totally relate to this - I went into Target yesterday for garbage bags and vacuum cleaner bags, and left with $100 of stuff! Target's magnetic pull is just too much. Looks like a fun wedding!

Also, sorry I'm just now getting back to your question on hats! I'm not sure where one can buy Derby hats online (I'd probably try Etsy), but I'll keep thinking about it and I'll let you know if I come up with anything!

I have this problem in Target too! They're talking about building one less than a mile away from my house - I may have to move!

Okay, I think I found you a site to find a fantastic Derby hat! The link is: www.delmarhat.com. They have a lot of options at a lot of different price points. Hope this helps!

Oh Tar-jay. It's like the sirens in The Odyssey, luring you in their seductive yet evil ways. As much as I hate to admit it, in a way, Target is total life-ruiner.

I have such a love-hate relationship with Target. Seriously though - it's the best store ever! LOVE the ring!

Ahh this just happened to me a few days ago! I went in "just to browse" and walked out of there spending $50 on a tee and a Liberty of London dress.

BTW - I love your nail polish! What brand/shade is it? I'm obsessed with neutral colors.
