big things and little things*

So many things to be thankful for today.  Some big, some little, but each made me happy and grateful today.

I voted this morning.  I walked into my polling place and was handed a ballot. I filled in my bubbles and put my ballot into the scanner.  The poll worker smiled at me and handed me the ever so important "I voted" sticker.  I hesitate to sound dramatic, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't feel amazing.

How lucky are we to live in a country where we have the right to voice our opinions and choose our leaders?  I was allowed to cast my ballot freely, without interference and without violence.  And that's a beautiful thing.

After voting, I decided to stop by Starbucks for coffee. Wouldn't you know it - one of my favorite days of the year - Red Cup Day!  I don't know about the rest of you, but for me, the holiday season begins on the day that Starbucks hands me my first red cup of year.  Had it not been 80 degrees and sunny this morning, I might have burst into song. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..."

The San Francisco Giants won the World Series!

This afternoon, I get to stop byTotal Wine** and load my car up with $700 worth of wine.  The only way this day could get better is if I got to the bring the wine home and load up my wine rack with it. Unfortunately, it has to be dropped off at a charity event.  But for a few minutes, this girl will dream of pulling a Thelma & Louise and taking off on the open road - just me and a butt-load of wine.  Heaven.

And on top of all that - I'm wearing my favorite shoes today.

What more could a girl ask for?

Anyone else feeling happy & grateful today?

*Okay, so it's really one big thing and a few little things.
**or as I like to call it Toys R Us for Big Kids

Yay it is officially holiday season!

And I am just trying to figure out what size of vehicle would be required to cart around $700 worth of wine. Impressive.

Love this! You are right, we have so many blessings and things to be grateful for every day! Just living life. And I had to laugh outloud at your "burst of hiliday season love" and then acknowledging it's still 80 degrees because I feel the same way! I can't complain because the weather is GORGEOUS but yesterday I saw my first "snowman" commercial and I was like, "Holy Cow. It's starting!"

Hope you continue to have a wonderful day!! XOXO

Why is it that red Starbucks cups make me giddy? I was just asking about them the other day.

Hooray for voting! I did the same this morning.

Have a great day!

It really is the little things that make your day! Like a favorite pair of shoes or the red cup. Hope you have a great day!

Nobody would ever ask me to pick up wine because they know they would never see it again!

Looks like you are having a fun day! (not to mention productive)

Such a model citizen! And I think you deserve at least one bottle of that wine for showing such restraint!

You are such a dork! No pic of your favorite shoes? Which shoes are your favorite? I guess either your Kate Spade purple, because I don't think you would wear your sparkly Tory flats to work. Sorry to sound like a name dropper, but those are my guesses. They could just as easily be your favorite Target shoes. Mom xxxo

Yes! When Halloween is over, the holiday season is upon us! I have a "Toys R Us" for adults, it's called Randalls Wine and Spirits. I know just how you feel. The little things are the big things...this I know.

I love this post! It's so true that the little things really make me happy too. I felt the same way after voting yesterday and I MUST go get a Starbucks coffee in a red cup right away (maybe tomorrow). The holidays are definitely my favorite time of year and I'm going to really take it all in this year and enjoy every shopping trip, every tradition and every holiday dessert/drink.
