a little of this, a little of that

*  Gnomeo & Juliet, really? Have we exhausted all better ideas for children's movies than that? Sad.

*  My husband does laundry. I absolutely adore this about him.

* Does anyone else think that being anti-Valentine's Day has become more cliché  than Valentine's Day itself?  I can't help but roll my eyes every time I hear someone say it's a "Hallmark Holiday."  What holiday isn't commercialized?  Weeks before every St. Patrick's Day, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas you can find aisles of candy, cards and decorations devoted to the holiday  at every store - yet none of these holidays is singled out for hatred.  I can understand not buying into the commercialized hype of Valentine's Day but what's so bad about a holiday that celebrates love?  I think people just like being on the "Valentine's Day Sucks" bandwagon.

*  Polenta and grits - same thing, different name, right?

*  I'm still laughing over this one: A company contacted me and wanted me to feature their product on my blog because they thought my blog was "a great resource for information on healthy eating and living."  HA! Have they read my blog? Did they see what I made for the Super Bowl? Pre-pregnancy, did I not talk at length for my love of booze, Diet Coke and Starbucks?  Have I not made it clear that I haven't seen the inside of my gym in weeks? I think they might want to do a little more research (say, read the blogs they target) before asking to place their products. I sure did appreciate the laugh though.
*  I usually love Glee but I wasn't a fan of the post-Super Bowl episode. Boring. I need more Kurt. And Sue. And less football plot nonsense.

*  The library delivered Black Heels to Tractor Wheels yesterday. I've already read everything posted to the blog, but I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the story. Is anyone else excited to read the end of the Pioneer Woman - Marlboro Man love story?

Happy Tuesday!

I just got my copy of Black Heels and I'm so excited to read it. I LOVE P-Dub and I'm so jealous that you met her!

Now I want the polenta I had from Carrabbas.
Get used to bad kids movies...you'll be taking baby B to all of them soon enough. Actually, your husband will watch ANYTHING, that can be his job.

You'll have to let me know how PW's book is. I was going to read it, but I noticed somebody gave it a really low review on Goodreads and it gave me pause.

Polenta and grits...not the same! come to Atlanta and I'll show you how fantastically wonderful grits are. Far superior to polenta.

Hahaha, that is too funny about that health company. I get the most random e-mails like that and I'm like do you actually read my blog? And seriously booze, diet coke, and Starbucks are def in my top ten... In that order.

My husband said the same thing about the gnome movie. Like someone else said though, if it gives you an hour of peace while your child is quiet, it's so worth every bit of it's lameness!

I'm not so much anti-Valentine's Day because I'm against love, it just makes me mad that we have to let Hallmark rule our lives to tell us which day to celebrate. My philosophy is we should celebrate every day and not just one day a year!

My hubby does laundry too. We're very lucky girls!

Oh I sat on my couch one day and read the "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels" straight through for 4 hours....have to get the book! PDub is coming to Memphis for a book signing - I'm so there!

Can't wait to read PW's new book! I'm already planning on stalking her when she comes to St. Louis at the end of the month to do a book signing. I've asked her if she wants to spend the night with me and have a sleep-over but have yet to get a response. I'll keep you informed on my progress. :)

I cannot wait to read BHTTW! P-Dub cracks me up. And Sara cracks me up too...I'm sure she'll be down for a sleep over! My best friend sent her an e-mail when she came to Austin for her cookbook signing asking her to come to dinner and we'd all make her recipes...we never heard back. We should have told her we're normal (I use that loosely...let's change that to not harmful) and fun.

I'm not a V-day fan. Hear me out.

Not because of what it celebrates, but the expectation of having to go out on a date. No way. It's like NYE here. You have to make a reservation. It's packed. The resto kicks you out before the next reservation. I can go to these places anytime. I don't need to go out just because it's V-day.
The hubs and I would rather just stay home and make a nice dinner in and be able to talk without sitting on top of the couple next to us.

And gifts? I'd rather you surprise me on a random day than buy me something because you felt obligated.

Do you still think I'm on the V-day sucks bandwagon? ;)

First, I agree about the gnome movie. So dumb. There has to be better ideas.

Every holiday is a Hallmark Holiday now. Accept it.

I NEED more Kurt. That is all.

I was just thinking that today. Polenta and Grits. Isn't it the same? I've never had either.

I ordered PW's book on my kindle last week and read it in a day. I loved it. It had me crying and laughing. Laughing more, but crying still happened.

When I was young and single, I didn't like Valentine's Day, and even now that I'm married, I could take it or leave it. My issue is the same as yours--it's a holiday celebrating love, what's wrong with that?! I get that it can suck if you're single, but, why not make it about a day celebrating your friends and family too?

And yes, so excited for PW's book! Eeek!

You crack me up girl! Yes, I agree... people are so obsessed with being anti-Valentine's day! I just want to tell those debbie downers to suck it (politely though!). lol.

And I have absolutely no idea what is the difference between grits and polenta. I found myself wondering the same thing.

And no I'm not a big fan of the Pioneer Woman. I'm crazy, right?!
