Pregnant in Heels

I'm not talking about the TV show on Bravo (which I find absurd yet addicting), I'm talking about myself.

I wear heels to work on a regular basis.  This seems to baffle people.  I get so many comments about the fact that I'm pregnant and wearing heels. Coworkers have said, "I can't believe you're wearing those shoes. I'm not pregnant and I wouldn't wear those." and "Wow, can't believe you're still in heels. I gave those up when I was pregnant." Even one of my doctors has commented. At my 20 week appointment, my OB said "Hey Carrie Bradshaw, you might want to lose the heels."  And this from a woman!

Is there some high heel cut-off date that I've missed?  I really don't understand what all the fuss is about.  It's not like I'm not rocking stilettos - my heels are all of an office appropriate height.  I wear Tory Burch flats on occasion (the most comfortable work-appropriate shoes I own) and I haven't noticed that my back or feet are any less sore on those days.

Nevertheless, I'm growing tired of all the comments. So, I hit the interwebs in search of some practical flats to wear to the office. Here's what caught my eye.

Can you say fail?  No flats and some of those aren't even office appropriate. What can I say, I'm a girl who knows what she likes.  And I really like those strappy TB wedges.  Those might have to come with me...

But really, what is this strange fascination with my footwear? Why the heck do people care if I'm in heels? Shouldn't people be happy for me that at 7 months pregnant I can still fit my feet into something other than flip flops?  It sure makes me happy!

I love those shoes and I'm super proud of you for continuing to wear heels while pregnant. And why shouldn't you?! Heels are awesome. Please please buy those strappy TB sandals, they are fabulous.

High five to you for rocking the heels. Sounds like you have good taste in footwear, so why wouldn't you wear them while pregnant?

Although I am a few months behind you I am still rocking the heels to (and flats on occasion...depending on the outift).

I figure I will give them up when/if I have balance issues. I have a feeling I will be spending enough on clothes to fit my expanding waist, that I don't need to spend more on "maternity shoes" too.

People love to judge pregnant ladies and I don't know why! Good for you for rockin the heels :) did I ever tell you about rockin the 2 piece bathing suit while pregnant?? People looked at me really strange, but my maternity suits were awful!! Your'e so dang cute I'm sure ladies are jealous of your fabulous pregnant style!

Wait until the 35 week mark and after... you won't be wearing heels after that ;) Most likely your feet will be too big to fit into anything other than flip flops anyway. But maybe that was just me! Haha And keep rockin' the heels while preggo, you look fab!

Girl, if you can do it, I say rock all the heels you want! I hope that when I'm pregnant I can continue to wear heels. I always admire women who are preggers and wear heels (and dress cute). :)

I say good for you! If you can wear them why not! Unless you start to feel like you are going to fall over trying to walk in them, what's the problem?!

Good for you! I couldn't stand heels before pregnancy, and especially not during it! But, people need to step off. WTF? I want to make out with those Michael Kors wedges!!!!!!!!!

I'm due in August too (with my 2nd) and I was wearing heels until a week ago when my heel got caught on the brick steps in front of my office which caused a fall that landed me in the OB ER. After a shot to stop contractions I got sent home with a strict warning to hang up the heels for the remainder of the pregnancy. It was probably just a fluke thing but I felt pretty dumb afterwards. I wore them the whole time during pregnancy 1 (just 2 years ago) and was fine. Hopefully you won't become a klutz like me!

I've never been pregnant but I remember my mom had said the reason she gave up heels was because her feet grew - she used to be a 7.5 and left pregnancy an 8.5. So she gave them up cause she didn't have any that fit.

But yay for hot moms in heels.

If you still have balance and your feet aren't swollen, why the heck not?! Those wedges are fabulous too! Home stretch, girl! You're almost there!

I can't even wear heels now, so I can't imagine wearing them being 7 months pregnant... I'm such a klutz! You definitely found some great pairs, you should definitely treat yourself!!

I love that you're still rocking some heels! Whatever feels good and makes you happy, go for it. Don't get me started on folks who offer opinions about things that are none of their business... Different strokes for different folks, people!

I wear heels and get comments like that and am NOT pregnant. What is about people that they feel they need to comment on people's footwear?

I am swooning over those pink heels - they looks like a pair of Kate Spades I am lusting after.

Yeahhh, I don't know anything about this, but, I do remember one of my co workers having to give up wearing heels at a certain point in her pregnancy, but, it was due to balance issues or something. If you aren't in pain and you aren't having any problems walking or whatever, then I don't see the issue. But, again, never been pregnant, so, I don't know these things...

Pretty sure I NEED those coral heels! And ps - I wore heels up until last week...just shy of 39 weeks and EVERYONE gave me a hard time. Truth be told, once I broke out the flats, I was amazed at how much better I felt overall after a day at the office.

I'm 5'1" and need all the help w/ height I can get... add a baby belly onto that small frame and flats make me look even stump-ier [can't be a word]! :/
