As I near the end of this pregnancy, I have been thinking about all the things I want to do before Blaire arrives. The time is short and the list is long. Here are a few items from my pre-baby bucket list.
Bake. I have a very narrow window in which I can bake and eat some delicious treats without (too much) guilt. The only problem - how do I choose from so many yummy possibilities?
Clean. The entire house. Top to bottom. Unfortunately, I don't think my swollen feet are up to the task. I'm pretty sure we're going to have to call in help on this one.
Read. I've finished Babywise. I've yet to start Happiest Baby on the Block. I'd like to finish it before Blaire's born. I've heard a rumor that a Happiest Baby dvd is out there...might just have to watch that instead.
Eat. Brian and I love to go out to eat and try new restaurants. I suspect dinners out will be few and far between in the months after Blaire is born, so I'd like to make an effort to go out to dinner at least once a week until she arrives and enjoy a good meal.
Also, I have to try this:
Also, I have to try this:
Does this not sound like the ultimate sweet & salty treat? No matter how delicious, I can't usually justify the 12 billion calories in a pint of Ben & Jerry's. But for this, I will make an exception. I just have to try it!
Decorate. Finishing Blaire's nursery is obviously at the top of the list. We're waiting on the crib & chair to arrive and I need to add in some decorative details. I'd also like to get some pictures and artwork hung in the rest of the house. I'm sure decorating will not be a priority after the baby, so the more I can get done now, the better.
Sleep. This one needs no explanation.
Cook. I'd like to prepare some meals to store in the freezer so that we can eat something other than take-out in the hectic days after Blaire first arrives. Here are some good resources and tips I've found for freezer meals.
Me Time. Pedicures, reading, blogging - I'll squeeze in whatever I can.
Looks like most of this list is about food. No shock there. You don't pack on the pounds like I've done in the past 9 months without a healthy appetite and a sincere love of food. I know what the first item on my post-baby bucket list will be - Weight Watchers!
What else should be on my pre-baby bucket list?

doing whatever you and the hubs want when you wake up on the weekends...
taking a long bath...
Hmmmmm.. Eat, sleep, read.. That sounds like a great list!
I'm so in love with the name Blaire!! I cannot wait til the little miss arrives!
I totally thought that was your fridge ( in the first picture) as I skim-read it!
All those cakes look AMAZING! Not sure about the ice cream. The sweet/savoury combo is not something I am a fan off. My husband would LOVE it!

Oh my word on the 1st and 3rd cakes! Make them and tell us about them!!! The freezer stuff is a great idea too-I made 7. Things like casseroles, lasagnas, pulled pork for tacos, burrito filling, chili, etc. Great idea for when your friends stop bringing food!
Ryan and I have been going out to eat as much as possible too! Have you heard anything more on your furniture???
I'm totally on board with your pre-baby bucket list. I've been checking items off our list for the past few weeks, but still have so much to do! This week: sew curtains for the nursery and try out a new local restaurant. Have to balance the to do tasks with the indulgent stuff, right?
And now I'm hungry. I love that 1/2 of your list involves food! A girl after my own heart (:
Those freezers make me a tad jealous. Then again, it also paints a picture of a neurotic person, so maybe that's not so ideal.
I like your last one, "me time", the best!
You will have to let me know if you find a good freezer meal. For whatever reason, freezing meals scares me. I need to read some of those tips.
Caramel apple cheesecake? Um, yes. Definitely do the mani/pedi. And just enjoy some quiet time.
Oh my! Those desserts at the top of the blog made my mouth water! Enjoy :)
All of those desserts look SO good! Can't wait to see Blaire's nursery! I'm sure it's going to be the cutest thing ever!
Sounds like a great list. Good luck getting it all done and relaxing as much as possible before Blaire's arrival!
All of those sweets look unbelievable!!!!!! And I just tried that Late Night Snack the other day. Watch out. I ate it in one day. Two sittings...but yes, one day.
And do you have Netflix? I know that Happiest Baby on the Block DVD is on there.
I love that so many of the items revolve around food - this is why we're such good friends!! :) And why I need to stay off of Pinterest anytime I'm hungry...
That list made me HUNGRY! and those are all great ideas!!
Just found your blog today!!!! Can't wait to dig in and check it out really. We too are expecting, a girl, September tho, our first :) How exciting! Haven't read babywise yet, what did you think? Worth reading? THANKS!!
Just to let you know, that is my FAVE ice cream... the late night snack ben and jerrys. YUM! LOVE the chocolate covered potato chip clusters. There needs to be more salted caramel ice cream though :)
