weekend update

We had a good, low key weekend. Low key probably goes without saying because that's just how we roll these days.

Friday night we had dinner at home and caught up on some TV shows we'd recorded throughout the week. I'm loving Parenthood, The Good Wife, Harry's Law, and Parks & Recreation.  And I've watched this week's episode of The League at least three times.

That show kills me. If you're a fan of really inappropriate humor and fantasy football, you have to watch it. I realize that probably applies to about three of you reading this. And you're probably already watching. Okay, plug for The League over.

On Saturday, I snuck out of the house for a little while to do some shopping while Brian and Blaire watched college football. Typically, I'd prefer to be on the couch watching football too but I was in desperate need of a trip to the mall. I've been wearing dresses and yoga pants because really, that's all that works right now. (I tried on a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans and wanted to cry. Not pretty.) I need some transitional pieces that I can wear while I work on getting back into my old clothes. I bought a pair of jeans in a larger size, which I hope to only wear for a short time. I will be so happy to send them to the Goodwill when they are too big! I was also looking for some tops with sleeves to cover the arms, tunics, and long sweaters to cover the lumpy middle section.

The trip was fairly successful. I tweeted the picture above because I wasn't sure about the striped sweater but everyone seemed to like it so I picked it up. I think it will work with black leggings (it's long) or skinny jeans, if I can ever fit back into mine. Plus, it's comfy. Win, win. I also got a couple tops with sleeves to hide the flabby arms. Hopefully the things I picked out will hide the mom body without making me look like a soccer mom. (Did I just offend the mothers of soccer playing children? I'm sure there are lots of actual soccer moms who dress far better than I do. Sorry soccer moms. Nothin' personal.)

I got home in time to catch the end of the UCF game, which was really nothing to see. We played like garbage and lost. Blaire and I were hopeful that the Gators would fare better.

They didn't. Our offense couldn't get going with our back-up freshman quarterback and our special teams were anything but special. Oh well, at least B looked cute. Thanks to Leah of Oh Sew Sweet Bowtique for the adorable onesie.

Sunday was another big football day at our house. After a morning run to Target with Aunt Jilly, we settled in to watch more football. My San Fransisco 49ers won a big game against the Lions and my fantasy team had a big win too! Football wise, Sunday was a much better day than Saturday.

We didn't make it to the pumpkin patch for pictures and pumpkins with Blaire, so that's still on our list. I also need to get to Hobby Lobby so I can start on her costume. As you can tell, I'm a bit behind on the Halloween preparations. I'm going to try get caught up this week.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I've never watched The League but I have a feeling I'd like it, yes this was not a great weekend for college football, I can't believe SC almost lost to Mississippi State?! Oh well, a W is a W. Also, Blaire is so stinking cute in that onesie! Can't wait to see the pictures from the Pumpkin Patch (once you go) and her Halloween Costume! :)

Hah! This past weeks episode of the league was awesome! My fave line (that I've been randomly texting my husband) was "There's nothing racially insensitive about a dragon with a chainsaw penis"! Love it! That sweater is super cute! Where'd you find it?? I want one! And love Blaire's onesie! I need to find an OU one for my friend!
