7 months

Lulu Belle,

Seven months, already? Time sure does fly! The past seven months with you have been so much fun. There’s never a dull moment in our house now that you’re here. You are such a joyful, inquisitive little girl. You keep us laughing with your silly snaggle-tooth grin and your sweet babbles.  You make your daddy and I happier than we ever knew was possible. When I scoop you up from your crib each morning and you wrap your arms around my neck and press your face into my cheek, my heart feels as if it might burst with love. I hope you always know how very much your momma loves you, baby girl.

You've changed and grown SO MUCH this month. It's amazing to see how quickly you learn and master new skills. Our itsy bitsy baby is gone and in her place is a busy girl! I love watching you grow up but I have to admit it makes me a bit sad how quickly it's happening. Just know how matter old you get (and how embarrassing you think I am!), you'll always be my baby.

You are sitting up like a champ, without assistance. But you don't have much time for sitting - you like to be on the move! You don't crawl on your hands and knees yet but that doesn't mean you're not all over the place. You use your arms and legs to push and pull yourself (quickly!) across the floor to get to whatever it is you've got your eye on at the moment.  When you spot something you want a huge grin spreads across your face and then you're off to get it.  We put you down in one spot and within seconds you've scooted across the room. We have to keep a close eye on you these days!

You have one tooth now. It's on the bottom, just right of center, and it is too funny! Your daddy and I crack up every time you give us your sweet smile with one tiny tooth peeking out. The tooth next to it looks like it will poke through any day.

You're still a great sleeper. You usually sleep from 8pm to 8am and take 2-3 naps a day. You are a wiggle worm while you're sleeping. We put you down in the middle of the crib and throughout the night you roll from end to end of your crib. You haven't started pulling up on the sides of the crib yet but we lowered your mattress just in case.

You are an outdoorsy girl. You love stroller rides and sitting outside on the lawn. You could sit in the front yard for hours and watch the cars drive by. We go on long walks every weekend and sometimes we sneak in a walk on weekday evenings before the sun sets.

You are still a little peanut! You were weighed at the doctors office about a week ago and were 15lbs 10oz. You're about 26.5 inches long. You wear mostly 3-6 month and 6 month clothes but many of your 3 month dresses fit. You're still wearing a size 2 diaper.

You are babbling quite a bit but no words yet. We've heard "mamama" and "babababa" but the one we hear most often is "dadadada". At this point, it looks like Dad may win the honor of being your first word. But we'll just have to see about that. Mom's not ready to concede quite yet.

Your hair is getting longer and thicker. The hint of red you were born with seems to have turned to golden blond. Your eyes are still a bright, deep blue. They're simply gorgeous! Everywhere we go, people comment on your beautiful blue eyes.

You're finally eating solid food! We tried around 5 months but you weren't interested. In the past few weeks you've tried sweet potatoes, peas, yellow squash, and carrots and loved them all! We've also tried bananas, applesauce, blueberries, and pears. All were met with a look of utter disgust and a refusal to open your mouth after two bites. We keep trying just about every day but you make the same grossed out face and clamp that mouth shut. Silly girl!

You have the best laugh. Blowing raspberries on your belly or noisy kisses on your cheek are surefire ways to get the coveted Blaire laughs. Needless to say, there are lots of raspberries and kisses going on around here. We can't get enough of your sweet laughs.

You LOVE books. You think they're delicious.

Blaire Harper, you are the light of my life! You are such a happy, sweet, beautiful girl and I couldn't love you more. Happy seven months baby!

Such a little peanut - too cute!

Maybe you can send us all your bananas, apples and fruit and we'll send you all our veggies. Cause we can't get Caleb to eat veggies for anything!

Every time I read Blaire's monthly updates, I think that her and Sam would be the best of buddies! They could ride side-by-side in their strollers, babble to each other, and eat books together. Happy seven months, pretty little lady!
