Long time, no see. Nothing big going on with me, just been busy with the every day things and haven't been making blogging a priority. If there were more hours in a day... well, I'd probably just watch a bit more tv. Or clean my messy house. (Keepin' it real.) (Which reminds me, I haven't watched Clueless in far, far too long.)
A few things to share:
I'm finding all kinds of cute things on Piperlime lately. It's not a place I usually shop but I found these adorable (and affordable) tops and couldn't pass them up. There were about 12 more things I wanted to order but strangely I managed to find some restraint. Surprising, I know. I'm sure a second order will be placed soon. (as always, not sponsored. my opinion, my money.)
I've listened to this song at least six times today. It's so damn catchy. (I'm sure I'm the last person on Earth to hear this song. I never claimed to be in the know.)
Speaking of late to the bandwagon, I'm almost done with the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy. I know, I know. Go ahead and judge. I promise you, I judge myself. But I was tired of hearing about it. I had to read for myself to find out what the fuss was about. In short, I find it to be terribly written and terribly entertaining.
Every time I log into Pinterest I see a new recipe for some cake batter-flavored dessert. What's with this cake batter craze? Am I the only person who thinks the concept is gross? Apparently so.
Blaire's daycare sends home a craft every holiday. So cute, right? I'm sure the other mothers think so. I find this a bit ridiculous. She's 8 months old. I know she's not making this crap herself. How about you put down the glue stick and pay attention to my kid? Also, I'm tired of picking glitter out of her hair. (This message is brought to you by Crabby Mom.)
I have an appointment tomorrow to get my hair cut. A couple weeks ago when I made the appointment I was desperate to cut my hair. Now I'm ambivalent and hesitant. Why does this always happen? It's starting to look a little ragged and it's about to get hot and humid in Florida so I know it's time to lose a little length but now I'm having second thoughts. It's just hair. Obviously not an actual problem. So I'll just shut up now.
If you don't hear from me again until November, it's because my sister got a pool. We plan to spend every non-working moment in it until the average daily temperature drops back below 90 degrees. I can't wait to put Blaire in her bathing suit and her pool floaty!
Hope you have a great weekend filled with Cinco de Mayo margaritas and Kentucky Derby mint juleps!

I can't wait to get photos of little B in her swim suits!
I've missed you! Apparently you're not the only one living under a rock because I had never heard that song. It is ridiculously catchy and now I'll be singing it all day. My coworkers thank you.
Why is it that you receive more compliments on your hair the week or even the day before you get it cut? Never fails with me. Makes me second guess myself every time!
Have a great weekend and I great May-November (:
SO many things to discuss...
I've been debating about jumping on the 50 Shades of Grey bandwagon too. Worth it?
Polka dot top is cute!
Cake batter desserts are nasty. I'm with ya on that one!
Enjoy the poolside margs! You deserve it!
I love the polka dot top too! It would hide what used to be my flat tummy.. Cake batter popcorn -it's bizarre , haven't read 50 shades and clearly Rebecca and I are the last on the planet who haven't , Blaires crafts ...that makes me laugh - it would irk me as well. Happy Cinco de derby day :) why I wrote this in a stream of consciousness format is beyond me.. My apologies
I'm loving Piperlime lately too. Though I have yet to actually purchase anything. I need to change that.
Respectfully requesting pix of both the new do and the babe next post :)
I too think the cake batter concept is gross! You're not alone. :)
I had been wishing that Jade was sent home with more crafts each holiday, but now I see your point. I guess I'd rather that she learn to speak and walk instead of watching her teachers make something for me. :)
Yes, you're crazy to not love anything cake batter flavored. That shit is delicious!
I haven't read 50 Shades yet. It's on my late night baby feedings during maternity leave to do list. Yeah right, I'm probably kidding myself, huh.
Must see pictures of Blaire in her teeny little baby swimsuit! So freaking cute!
Once Call Me Maybe gets stuck in my head there's no turning back! It's just fun. And those tops are all super cute! Welcome back :)
Couldn't agree with you more...I am half way done with Fifty Shades of Grey and just waiting to really get into it. As of right now, I am just not getting on this big bandwagon!
I love that you posted about the Carly Rae song, because I adore it, and it's now on my iPod. It's just so catchy and cute. :)
Glad to see a post from you, it's been too long!
I agree that song is ridiculously catchy. Anytime it's on in the car I rejoice and turn it up. As a side note- I don't know if it's just me, but I can't stand music videos...they are always ridiculous! As for the hair issue, I feel the same way. For the past year or so I have solved that by only getting trims. It's getting a bit long though so the next one is probably gonna have to be an actual cut.
My sister is a middle school teacher and totally turn me onto that song and now I hate her because of course I love it!! Cute stuff from Piperlime! I read all 3 Fifty shades in a week, I'm not saying they're literary masterpieces but I could not put them down!
loving Piperlime! That first blouse is super cute! have you checked out Tobi.com - they have some super cute stuff I've been collecting in an online shopping bag for a week or so now.. haha! Not quite ready to pull the trigger..
I'm laughing my ass off at that comment about the day care crafts cause I TOTALLY agree with you. Seems so silly that daycares do that at their age!
I think I laughed out loud a little when you said that you'd probably just watch tv instead of blog if there were more hours in the day... you couldn't have read my mind better. I haven't blogged in over a month because when I have time, I'd rather just SIT and have the tv entertain me. Totally know what you mean there!!
I totally agreed on the crafts until it became obvious that Thatcher was in fact painting himself. This was closer to 10-11 months. But before then it is a tad ridiculous.
I so want that color block tank on Piperlime but tis gone.
